Mr. Walter G. Alton, Jr., graduated from Yale University in 1963. His personality and interest in people led him to want to be a trial lawyer so, after he graduated from Columbia Law School in 1966, he joined Martin, Clearwater, and Bell, a prominent malpractice defense trial firm for physicians. It was there he honed his trial skills, understanding of medicine, and developed a special rapport with doctors. He learned how they think and what values they hold strongly. He even wrote a book for them, Malpractice: A Trial Lawyer’s Advice for Physicians (How to Avoid, How to Win), Little, Brown; 1977.
Mr Alton’s unique understanding of physicians continues to serve him as a plaintiff’s attorney. He can persuade the most highly regarded doctors, who ordinarily would not come to court, to testify on behalf of his clients. This understanding also is invaluable when it comes to cross-examination of physicians who testify against his clients. Read more here….
